Wiki's ~ as I see it the benefit of wikis is that every thing is in one place, and people can either make additions or deletions to thoughts as needed. It is a great collaborative tool. I liked the video that we saw initially that showed how a wiki worked. And of course the largest wiki of all is Wikipedia...

Final thoughts. Well I did it! Kicking and screaming part of the way, but now it is finished. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! :) I'm still a dinosaur from the dark ages, this type of technology is really not my cup of tea, but at least I now understand it a little better.
My favorite part of it, hands down, would be the introduction to Facebook, which I really like. My children were mortified when I joined, but I had a perfect excuse, I need to for work. It has allowed me to catch up with people from college that I haven't heard from or thought of in 25 years or more.
I will try and keep up the the ever changing technology, and won't be surprised if there is a Web 3.0 soon...

Well I am finally down the home stretch in this project. I have seen the delicious accounts that the library has bookmarked, and it seems like it will be a useful tool. I do like the idea that saving favorites to a web-based page will allow me to access them at any time. I could see my using it personally for projects that I want to do around the house, storing my ideas and thoughts all in one place.

So many of our patrons come in and ask if we have power point. It is nice to know that we can refer them to zoho sheet which works like mircosoft excel. These online office tools offer convenience, but one must also acknowledge that they are not secure as they are stored on a remote server. Overall I think that people will like this feature.
I doubt that many of our patrons know of the features that online word processing can offer them, and that they don't need a disk or flash drive to store their work. We need to get the word out to them.

Exploration 5
This is the one element of the Web 2.0 Exploration that I actually like and think that I would use. It's fun to tag your own books, and nice to see what other people are reading.

I have learned a little bit more about RSS feeds. I think that they will be of limited use to me, as I generally just type in the web address of the sites I regularly visit, but I am game to try this. I can see where they are definitely useful in a library setting, disseminating information to ourselves and our patrons.

Exploration 3
Flickr is kind of cool. I was able to find pictures of friends from other library systems, as well as photos of friends from college. A nice way to keep abreast of what is going on in peoples' l ives.
